No words

Hey Beautiful Ones!

Tonight I have no words. I have had a wonderful me day filled with reading and cleaning. I have committed today not to watch too much tv or be engaged in social media.

We all need a “time out” at times. A time just to reflect, ponder, and refuel without being distracted. So with that I unplug for the rest of the evening.

Tata for now! image

Give Flowers

Hey Beautiful Ones!

It’s the weekend, whoooo hoo!!!! The weekend is finally here. I don’t know about you, but I am so glad that it is here! 🙂 I promise I won’t keep you long this evening. I just wanted to share a couple of thoughts before you enjoy your evening.

How do you show your appreciation? Whether it’s a bouquet of flowers, or a simple thank you and a smile, showing gratitude is vitally important. I believe in “giving people their flowers while they are still alive.” I have found that sincere appreciation can change the recipient, and the giver as well; gratitude breeds gratitude.

Give thanks! Give thanks to God for all God has done! Give thanks to others for their uniqueness. Give thanks to those who have aided you on your journey thus far.

Give Flowers!

Keep Climbing

Hey Beautiful Ones!

I pray you had a terrific Thursday! Have you ever seen something in front of you that appeared to be way too hard to overcome? Maybe you have encountered situations that have looked so impossible, that you wanted to quit before you even started.

I think we all have felt that way sometime in our lives. If you allow it, fear can come and shut you down! It will make you focus on the problem without even taking into consideration that YOU have something greater, your Faith in God!

Faith is easy when there is nothing to fear. However, it’s those times that you have to confront obstacles that your faith really is put into practice.

While leading a retreat this past year, I took some of my students indoor rock climbing. I had never been rock climbing and thought it couldn’t be that scary because it was indoors! Well let me confess, I was wrong! LOL!

After the group was properly trained, we were off to climb. I had planned just to watch my students and take pictures, but they had other plans. I eventually stepped or “climbed” out of my fear and onto the rock climbing walls pictured below. The outcome was awesome! I got halfway and my students said “keep on climbing” right when I wanted to jump down. I did, and I made my way to the top.

So I speak to you as I remind myself, Keep on climbing! I know the journey may seem hard and even impossible, but keep climbing you are not only! God is with you, holding you! God won’t lose his grip, or make a mistake. You do your part, and just keep on climbing!

Open Your Eyes

Hey Beautiful Ones!

One day while walking in one of my favorite routine places, I stopped and noticed  my surroundings: the cool crisp air, birds chirping loudly, and the crunch of the leaves beneath my feet. As I continued to walk and be present in the moment, I looked down and noticed this below. (Observe the picture below) At first glance, it just looks like a bunch of fallen leaves amongst a few green sprouts. However if you take a closer look, you will see something else, something living amongst the dead leaves.

When is the last time you “opened your eyes” and really saw what was around you? Sometimes we can get so busy and caught up in the same mundane routines, that we forget something new and living can/is amongst us. So the next time you take a walk, look around you and really “open your eyes” you just might be surprised.

The Sun Still Shines

Hey Beautiful Ones!

I hope you had a terrific Tuesday! Today while driving through cold, wet, & sticky snow; I had to remind myself that the sun was still shining even in these conditions.

The picture below is a beautiful sunset I was blessed to see while traveling in the Caribbean this summer in perfect conditions. I can still remember the sand between my toes, the smell of salty ocean water, & of course the sun beaming on my face.

Some days, it doesn’t feel like the sun is shining. The world physically looks and feels dark at times. There seems to be no light amongst the bitter violence and darkness appears to cover much of the earth.

However, I want to remind you that the SON still does shine! The SON shines among the darkness even when we don’t feel or see it. The SON is always there! So when you are going through a dark day, or feel like there is nothing but darkness around you, look up, the SON is shining!

Treat Yourself Well

Hey Beautiful Ones!

Today was a wonderful day, and thus this post will be short. Today was a “me” day. Remember to treat yourself well. YOU are so worth it!

What Gift Will You Give?

Hey Beautiful Ones!

Happy 1st Sunday of 2016! Gift giving and receiving  is something that many of us are familiar with especially during this season. Companies spend billions of dollars every year telling us why we need to buy the new gadget on the scene and what joy it will bring.

After hearing a great sermon today, my question for you is What gift will you give? I am not referring to physical gifts such as: gold, frankinsence, or myrhh like the magi brought, but a gift that you have internally.

What gift/talent are you going to share with others? The gift of laughter, a smile, or even just the ministry of being present with someone is at times the best gift you can give. So in this season of giving and receiving, ask yourself “what gift can I bring.”
